1st Summer Term 2019
The question we are asking this half term is:
“Do you see what I see?”
This topic is all about 3D sculptures!
In class this half term we will be learning about the following things:
Maths: Time, Measurement: length and height, Problem solving and efficient methods.
English: Instructions and Traditional Tales
Topic: Sculptures, abstract art, Natural art & sculptures and lots of fun filled activities.
Homework will be sent home on a Friday and will support learning done in class that week. Children are to complete the homework to the best of their ability. Homework should be handed in no later than Wednesday.
Children in 2C can change their book as often as they like. If they don't like the book, please sign to request another. Nobody likes to read a book that is boring to them!
Please sign reading records in order for books to be changed. Remember to read a little every night. We aim for children to get a new book each week. We can see huge benefits from this.
Spellings in Year 2 are made up of common exception words (tricky words), spelling patterns and topic words. We have a weekly spelling challenge on Wednesday mornings.
Each term the children will have a bumper spelling challenge where they will spell all Year 2 tricky words.
PE in 2C is on a Tuesday afternoon. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school on this day. They will need black shorts, a white t-shirt, trainers and a spare pair of socks.
PE kits need to be in school everyday as we may do extra PE lesson throughout the week.
Multi-skills is on a Tuesday after school - 3:20 - 4:15pm. If your child has a place in multi-skills they will need to wear their PE kits, but they need to remember to bring them back to school the following day.
