1st Autumn Term 2018
Welcome back! I hope you have all had an exciting half term and are ready to start 2C.
We have got lots to look forward to this half term and lots of new things to learn.
This half term we are asking the question 'What is it like down under?'
In class we will be covering the following things:
English - Non-fiction writing and story writing
Maths – Number and place value
Science - Living things (Minibeasts)
Topic – Computing and Art and lots of fun hands on learning.
Homework will be sent home on a Friday and will support learning done in class that week. Please return homework books to school by the following Wednesday.
Children in 2C can change their books as often as they would like. All we ask is that their reading record book is signed to show that they have read at home. Please support your child's reading progress and listen to them each day.
Spellings in Year 2 will be made up of common exception words, spelling patterns that we are learning and topic themed words. Please encourage your child to learn their spellings in preparation for a spelling challenge on a Wednesday. Spellings will be sent home on a Wednesday to ensure there is plenty of time given for learning them.
PE for 2C is on a Wednesday afternoon with Mr Vyse. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school on this day. They will need; black shorts, a white t-shirt, trainers / pumps and a spare pair of socks. Please ensure all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child's name.
