Homework:
Homework will be set through Purple Mash every Friday:
https://www.purplemash.com/login/
If you need your child’s login, please email vcooper@hollin.rochdle.sch.uk
Reading:
Children in 2C will need to hand in their reading books on a Monday in order to receive a new one on Thursday.
Their book will be changed by their teacher, so if your child comes home with a book they have already had, please read it with them and change on the next time.
Remember to read a little every night. We aim for children to get a new book each week as we see huge benefits from this.
Spellings:
We have a weekly spelling challenge on Friday mornings.
Spellings will be set on Purple Mash for your child to practise in a way that is fun for them.
Spellings in Year 2 are made up of common exception words (tricky words), spelling patterns and topic words.
Each term the children will have a bumper spelling challenge where they will spell all Year 1 or Year 2 tricky words. See below:
PE:
PE in 2C is on a Thursday morning. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school on this day. They will need black shorts, a white t-shirt, trainers and a spare pair of socks.
PE kits need to be in school every day as we may do extra PE lesson throughout the week. PE kits will be sent home at the end of each half term or if they get dirty.
Communication:
Due to COVID we are unable to speak to you at the door during collecting times. Communication is still key so please email me vcooper@hollin.rochdale.sch.uk or ring the office and I will call you back once the children have gone home.
As always, thank you for your continued support. You’ve all been amazing during these difficult time.
Multi-skills:
Multi-skills is on a Thursday after school - 3:20 - 4:15pm. If your child has a place in multi-skills they will need to wear their PE kits, but will need to remember to bring them back to school.
