1st Spring Term 2019
The question we are asking this half term is ‘Who is to blame?’
We are learning all about endangered animals from around the world.
In class we will be covering the following things:
English - Poetry, non fiction reports, story writing and writing about real events
Maths - Money, properties of 2D and 3D shapes, multiplication and division
Science - Habitats, food chains and adaptation
Topic - Plenty of topic themed activities from other areas of the curriculum.
Homework will be sent home on a Friday and will support learning done in class that week. Please return homework books to school by the following Wednesday.
Children in 2B can change their books as often as they would like. All we ask is that their reading record book is signed to show that they have read at home. Please support your child's reading progress and listen to them each day.
Spellings in Year 2 will be made up of common exception words, spelling patterns that we are learning and topic themed words. Please encourage your child to learn their spellings in preparation for a spelling challenge on a Wednesday. Spellings will be sent home on a Wednesday to ensure there is plenty of time given for learning them.
PE for 2B is on a Thursday morning with Mr Vyse. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school on this day. They will need; black shorts, a white t-shirt, trainers and a spare pair of socks. Please ensure all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child's name.
