A BIG thank you for all your wonderful FAMILY TREE learning logs - we loved looking at them all!
Our new topic this half term is called Who lives on snow and ice? We will be doing lots of fun activities in our creative curriculum linked to the polar regions.
Some of these things include:
Geography: Where the polar regions are located and how the climate is different to in England.
Science: Different types of polar animals and how they adapt to their surroundings.
D&T: Designing polar animals using different materials.
Computing: Researching the Arctic and Antarctica using the internet.
In English we will be:
Reading stories and writing about Halloween and Bonfire night.
Reading stories linked to the polar regions such as Penguin Small and Lost and Found.
Using describing words and joining words to improve our writing.
Practising our handwriting to ensure we form letters correctly and they sit on the line correctly.
Writing Christmas lists and letters to Father Christmas
In Maths we will be learning about:
Addition and Subtraction
Well done to everyone who continues to read at home - we have been giving out lots of reading certificates to those children who change their books three of more times a week �
This half term we will start having a Spellings Challenge every week. Please help your child practise the spellings that are sent home, ready for the following Friday.
